After a quick visit to Panama; I've finally entered the most dangerous country of my journey they say.
It's already been a couple of weeks that I am in Colombia, a country where one feels good. The food is delicious – fruits on the top of the list- the climate is really pleasant - warm in Medellin, even hotter in North- and people are extremely kind! Again I've been given we a king's reception when I went to Henry's family. Henry is a couchsurfer who lives in Medellin, the second city of the country. His mother made efforts to talk to me slowly so I could understand her and she cooked for us every day each meal better than the other.
Another story that makes me think very positively about this country is when I let my wallet containing my money, my cards, my passport on the counter of a shop. Lucky or not, the fact remains that a lady brought it back to me a five minutes later telling me to look after my stuff!
After Mexico and Panama the change of scenery is not as big as I thought. At first sight the country seems more settled and less noisy than Mexico. Then of course I remain a tourist in the eyes of the Colombians; some try to take advantage and do not hesitate to fix a gringo price that is generally very easy to get - special mention for taxis and buses- but it's very easy to negotiate.
